ANXIETY HYPNOTHERAPY IN FIFE

When your mind knows you're safe, but your body hasn't got the message.

You can tell yourself there’s nothing to worry about.

You can know that your reaction doesn’t make sense.

And yet the anxiety still arrives.

The racing thoughts.

The tension.

The feeling in your stomach.

The urge to avoid something you know you should be able to handle.

That’s because anxiety isn’t always something you can simply reason your way out of.

Hypnosis gives us a way to work with the automatic thoughts, feelings and responses that can keep anxiety going, even when consciously you know you’re OK.

Does this sound familiar?

Maybe your mind races ahead, imagining everything that could go wrong.

Maybe you overthink conversations, decisions or situations long after they’ve happened.

Perhaps anxiety shows up physically.

A tight chest, butterflies, tension, a racing heart or that uncomfortable feeling that something just isn’t right.

You might avoid certain places, situations or experiences because you know how anxious they’re going to make you feel.

Or perhaps the most frustrating part is that you know there’s nothing to be anxious about — but knowing that doesn’t seem to change how you feel.

Anxiety can become an automatic response. Your mind and body learn to react in a particular way, sometimes before you’ve even had time to consciously think about what’s happening.

And when a response has become automatic, simply telling yourself to “calm down” often isn’t enough.

Anxiety can feel completely logical in the moment, even when another part of you knows the reaction is unnecessary.

Rather than simply trying to tell yourself not to feel anxious, hypnosis allows us to work with the patterns and automatic responses behind the feeling.

You won’t be asleep, unconscious or out of control. You remain aware throughout as we work together on what you want to change.

The aim isn’t to make you a different person. It’s to help you respond differently to the situations that have been getting in your way.

What happens in the sessions

We’ll start by talking about what’s happening, what you’d like to change and what you’d like to experience instead.

From there, I’ll guide you into hypnosis, and we’ll work with the thoughts, feelings and automatic responses connected to the problem.

There’s no loss of control, and nothing is done to you.

We work together, with the session focused on the change you want to make.
