HYPNOSIS
I am a qualified and certified hypnotist, trained by some of the most respected names in the field.
Most people arrive with some version of the same question: does this actually work?
The honest answer is that it depends less on hypnosis and more on three things:
a genuine desire to change, a willingness to engage, and the ability to follow simple instructions.
Hypnosis is collaborative. It is not something that is done to you.
The people who get the most from it tend to be curious, open, and ready to do something different.
I do this work because I like helping people get past the things they were sure they were stuck with.
To take back their emotions, their control, their happiness.
Often the problem someone has carried for years turns out to be far more changeable than they ever believed.
Where WE DO THE work
I see clients from my office in Fife, and online anywhere in the world.
If you have not tried anything online before, do not let that put you off.
Hypnosis works just as well over a video call as it does in the room.
It is how I trained, and how a great deal of this work is now done. All you need is a quiet space, a decent connection, and somewhere comfortable to sit. Many people actually prefer it, because being in their own home, in their own surroundings, makes it easier to relax and settle.
What I can help with
Performance. Sport, business, creative work. The ceiling is usually in the mind, not the skill set.
Anxiety. The kind that sits in the background and quietly limits what you do and where you go.
Pain management. Working with the mind's relationship to physical discomfort.
Stopping smoking or vaping. One of the things hypnosis is best known for, and often quicker than people expect.
Phone and social media overuse. The compulsive pull of the screen. This is one of the fastest-growing reasons people are turning to hypnosis right now.
Your phone and getting back CONTROL
This is one of the most common things people are looking for help with now, and one of the least talked about.
The endless scroll. Picking the phone up without meaning to.
The evening that disappears into Instagram, TikTok, or the news without you deciding it should.
It is worth being clear about something: these apps are built to hold your attention. So the fact that they have a grip on you is not a failing on your part. They were designed to do exactly that.
Does any of this sound like you?
You reach for your phone without deciding to, dozens of times a day
You have tried screen-time limits or deleting apps, and slipped back
You check your phone first thing, last thing, and maybe even in the middle of the night
You feel uneasy when you cannot find it, or the battery is running low
The scroll eats time you meant to spend on something else
You use it to avoid a task, a feeling, or a conversation
If some of those sounded familiar, you are not alone, and you are not weak.
Hypnosis helps by loosening the automatic reach and returning the choice to you, not by banning the phone. Just ending the pull you never agreed to.

What a session looks like
If you have never done this before, here is what to expect, so nothing feels like a surprise.
We start by talking.
Before any hypnosis, we spend time on what has brought you here and what you want to be different.
This matters as much as the hypnosis itself, and often it is where a lot of the real work gets done.
Then you get comfortable. You stay seated, awake, and aware the whole time.
I will guide you into a relaxed, focused state with my voice. There is nothing to do, nothing to get right, and nothing that can go wrong. If you can follow a simple instruction and let yourself settle, you can do this.
A session usually lasts around an hour. The first one tends to run a little longer, because of the conversation at the start.
Afterwards, most people feel calm, clear, and completely normal.
You can drive home, head back to work, carry on with your day.
Common questions
Will I lose control, or do something against my will?
No. This is the most common worry and the easiest to put to rest. You cannot be made to do anything that goes against your values or your will. Because hypnosis is collaborative, you stay in control the whole way through. You can accept a suggestion or reject it. Hypnosis works best when you are willing, engaged, and open to the process.
Will I be asleep, or unconscious?
No. Despite the name, hypnosis is not sleep. Most people stay aware throughout, hearing my voice and the normal sounds around them. Most describe it as a focused, relaxed, daydream-like state. You are not switched off. If anything, you are more tuned in.
Will I remember the session?
Usually, yes. Some people remember everything, some remember parts, and some feel like time moved quickly. All of that is normal. You do not need to remember every word for the work to take effect.
Can hypnosis really help me stop vaping?
Yes. Vaping is a habit and a dependency, and hypnosis works well on both. Part of it is the nicotine, but a lot of it is the ritual, the reach for the device, the hundred small moments in a day when your hand goes looking for it without you deciding. We work with your own reasons for wanting to stop and quieten the automatic pull, so quitting feels less like a fight with yourself.
Can you really help me cut down on my phone or social media?
Yes, and it is fast becoming one of the most common reasons people are turning to hypnosis. We work on the automatic reach, the moments your hand goes to the phone before your brain has caught up. The aim is not to ban anything. It is to put you back in charge of the choice, so the phone works for you rather than the other way round.
Is this the same as what I have seen on stage?
No, and this is worth being clear about, because I do both. Stage hypnosis is entertainment, with willing volunteers who choose to join the fun. One-to-one, the work is different. There is no audience and no performance. It is just the two of us, focused on the change you want to make.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on you and what you are working on. Some people feel a shift after one session, others benefit from a few to reinforce the change. Stopping smoking or vaping is often quick. Deeper or longer-standing patterns can take a little more. I will always be honest with you about what I think it will take.
Hypnosis is not a substitute for medical or psychiatric care. If you are dealing with a serious physical or mental health condition, please speak to your GP. I am always happy to talk through whether what I do is the right fit for you.
